How ProductDock is building AI fluency (for non-technical team members)

by ProductDock

At ProductDock, we believe that AI literacy has to be shared across every role that shapes a digital product, from product management and design to marketing and HR.

Guided by this belief, our Product Manager Jovana Romčević, who brings over 15 years of experience in team leadership, design, and process digitalization, designed and led a series of internal workshops on “AI fundamentals for non-technical roles.”

The initiative brought together colleagues from product management, design, marketing, and HR with a single goal: to build a shared, practical understanding of AI’s possibilities and risks. The workshops were built around a simple premise: every role in the product lifecycle interprets, communicates, and makes decisions with AI differently.

Aligning roles around understanding of the AI paradigm

The sessions were structured to bring non-technical roles closer to the realities of AI-supported development, not by turning participants into engineers, but by helping them recognize where AI genuinely adds value, where it introduces risk, and how it reshapes collaboration with clients and across teams.

Beyond practical demonstrations of AI tools in everyday use, the workshops opened a broader conversation: how AI is changing daily workflows, how it affects collaboration between technical and non-technical stakeholders, and what it means for career development. AI, in this framing, was treated not merely as a productivity tool but as a force reshaping how teams think, learn, and grow together.

Reflecting on the initiative, Jovana emphasized that real AI fluency starts with understanding the paradigm shift itself, not just the tools it produces:

“What actually matters is understanding AI as an industrial-scale shift, not a speedup tool. That is what separates someone who uses AI from someone who builds with it as the fuel behind every product and process they create. Every professional is responsible for developing alongside technology, but also for owning their output, judgment, and decisions. This makes them a truly resilient and highly valued professional.”

Rooted in ProductDock’s values

The workshops were designed in line with ProductDock’s core commitment to the continuous development of everyone involved in the delivery process, and to raising the overall quality of the services we provide to our clients. Professionalism, transparency, and quality remain our guiding values, and they shaped both the content and the tone of the sessions, which favored honest, grounded discussion over hype.

That same approach extends to how ProductDock thinks about AI more broadly: not as a shortcut, but as a capability that must be understood, governed, and applied responsibly, with legal, security, and cost considerations weighed alongside speed and efficiency.

Encouraged by the engagement and the quality of discussion these sessions generated, ProductDock is now planning more advanced, specialized workshops and training formats.
