ProductDock’s first workshop in empowering the next wave of IT leaders

As the new school year started, our initiative to empower the next wave of IT leaders at “Jovan Dučić” grammar school in Doboj began.

This initiative begins with a series of workshops and open days designed to enhance the knowledge and potential of students in the Information Technology (IT) section of “Jovan Dučić” grammar school in Doboj.

Unlocking APIs: An Introduction for students

The first in a series of workshops was an interactive session led by our MuleSoft developer, Danijel Dragičević. His workshop, titled “APIs: The language of technology,” was a lively discussion that introduced students to the world of APIs and the API-led connectivity approach MuleSoft recommends. It was an exciting opportunity to share insights into the API economy and modern IT trends, making students feel engaged and involved.

Danijel explained to students what APIs are and how they work with familiar examples, such as Instagram, Facebook,  Amazon, and Netflix.

In the end, they concluded that APIs are the language of technology. They are everywhere — in our social media apps, online shopping, banking, and gaming. They allow different apps and systems to communicate, making our digital experiences smoother.

Whether we’re linking accounts on Instagram and Facebook or enabling a company to connect hundreds of apps, APIs are the invisible forces that keep everything working. With tools like MuleSoft, companies build their entire digital ecosystems using an API-led approach.

The initiative continues in the future

In the next period, we expect four more workshops to be held by professionals from ProductDock. They will share their expertise and insights to help students gain practical skills and industry-relevant knowledge.
