In our “ProductDock’s career reflections” interview series, we continue to honor team members who have celebrated a decade or more of dedication at our company.
This time, we talked with our colleague Žana Vasić, the office manager at ProductDock Bosnia. She has been in our office in Bosnia from the beginning, and her smile, positive spirit, and excellent energy always welcome every member of the ProductDock crew.
What is the best part of your job?
The most fulfilling part of my job is communicating with people. Working alongside ProductDock colleagues is truly enjoyable, and we all get along well. Whenever a new employee joins, we make an effort to be collegial toward them. There’s no tension or pressure—we understand and respect each other, which creates a pleasant work atmosphere.
What is your biggest challenge as an Office Manager at ProductDock?
I view every challenge as an opportunity for growth. I enjoy new experiences and seek out fresh opportunities. There’s no challenge that can’t be overcome because everything can be learned. These challenges drive me toward new possibilities, encouraging me to face them and acquire new knowledge.
What does your break at work look like?
During my break, I enjoy having coffee and engaging in conversations with colleagues. These little rituals we have offer us a chance to exchange our opinions and share experiences.
What is your best ProductDock memory?
I’ve been working here since 2009. Initially, there were just a few of us, but now we’ve grown in numbers. Both periods—the early days and the present—have been beautiful in their own ways. People have come and gone as time passed, enabling me to meet diverse individuals, form new bonds, and gather valuable experiences. I’ve been here since the beginning, and each period has been great and interesting in its own way. While people may have been different, we’ve always remained united as a group. And what I like the most is that we’ve always nurtured strong interpersonal relationships.
What is the secret of staying in the same company for more than 10 years?
Since the start, I have been happy and satisfied with everything, which is why I’ve never considered changing jobs.
Who is someone you admire?
There are several people on the team whom I truly admire. Miroslav Ožegović and Bruno Raljić are fantastic colleagues and friends. I’d also wish to mention Nikola Lisičić—even though there’s an age difference, with Nikola being younger than me, we’re very close. Of course, all my colleagues are dear to me, and we get along really well and enjoy learning from each other. But the three of them have been particularly supportive, and I really enjoy working with them.
What are you reading right now?
I have recently picked up my studies again, so I’m currently studying to complete my law degree while simultaneously balancing work commitments. As a result, I can only recommend legal books at the moment. :)
What do you do besides work?
Being a mom to two children keeps me quite busy. I try to manage everything—work, home, kids—which doesn’t allow me a lot of free time. Occasionally, I enjoy exercising, reading, and learning in the evenings.
Have you seen any good movies lately you would recommend?
I love watching comedies. “Home Alone” is one of my favorites—it brings back childhood memories. I could watch it anytime, especially around the holiday season when we can often find it on TV. Generally, I’m not a fan of horror movies, and I’d always choose comedies instead.
Where would you go if you could visit anywhere you have never been?
I’d love to visit New York. But, since I don’t have much time for travel, I haven’t had the opportunity to go there yet.
Coffee or tea?
I enjoy starting my day with a cup of coffee to wake me up, and in the evening, I opt for tea to relax and unwind before sleep.
What are the three things you like the most at ProductDock?
People, workplace and the General Manager. :)
What would you want to try or do in 2024 that you have never done before?
To complete my studies—I have two more years remaining—and to continue progressing and learning in my job.
Can you tell us something about your hometown?
I’ve been living in Doboj for 40 years. It’s a small town, and the situation has changed since the war. I love this place—I enjoy visiting other cities, but I always love coming back. The sights in Doboj include – Gradina, Doboj’s fortress, the Memorial Park of National Heroes, a museum, the city library, and other institutions. Anyone interested is welcome to visit and explore these attractions. :)
Greet your work bestie.
I want to say thank you to all the guys – as the only woman in a male company for many years, I’ve really appreciated the friendship we’ve shared from the start. I’ve always had a great and friendly relationship with all the guys on the team. I was also really happy to welcome more women to the team – I’ve always waited for more girls to join us, and I hope that even more will come. The atmosphere feels even richer now that there are both guys and girls on the team.
